Dr. Burtis began her career 28 years ago as a family medicine physician and the after 16 years of listening to the struggles that her patients had living with the disease of obesity, she founded the St. Mary's Weight Management Program in Lewiston Maine where she served as the Medical Director for 8 years. She then took a position as the Medical Director for Maine Medical Center's Adult Obesity Medicine service line in South Portland Maine. It is with much excitement that she has joined the Knownwell team as her most valued mission is to expand access for high quality obesity care for all those in need.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Maryland, Studied Medicine at the the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine
